Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Michael Serrian has followed his creative pursuits in writing, graphic design, photography, and filmmaking.

After becoming a published author of several novels, he relocated to Los Angeles in 1987 to work at Walt Disney Feature Animation as Assistant Director on The Little Mermaid. Michael continued working in animation at other studios including DreamWorks for over a dozen years as Assistant Director and Producer.

Taking a leap into live action feature films, he wrote and produced Cruising Purgatory and wrote, produced, and co-directed This Way Out of Brooklyn.

In recent years Michael has divided his time between writing and graphic design. Having worked at Disney Publishing as a book designer for over a decade, he is now continuing his creative journey as novelist and graphic designer.
